Support Local BC Awareness Rules


The “Support Local BC Awareness” Contest begins at 12:00 am PST on October 16, 2020 and ends at 11:59 pm PST on November 4, 2020. The Contest is solely organized and sponsored exclusively by Exploring Strength & Unity*. The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook or Instagram.


The Contest is open to all legal residents of Canada who are of the age of majority at the time of entry into the Contest. Staff and family members are eligiable in this contest.


There are two (2) different ways to enter the Contest. In accordance with applicable laws, no purchase is necessary to enter.

1. Tag your favourite local business in the same region as where you live on ESU Facebook page at

2. Write to Us. On a plain paper, legibly hand-print in 100 words or less your favourite local business in the region where you live. Mail it to Support Local BC Awareness Contest, CO: Jeff Fero - Exploring Strength & Unity Marketing, PO BOX 2500 – Grand Forks BC – V0H1H0

There is no limit to the number of times a member can enter the Contest through the above-noted methods. By submitting an entry into the Contest through any of the above-noted methods, you agree to the potential use of any part of that entry in future commercial materials produced by Exploring Strength & Unity.

Mailed entries (#2 above) will not be acknowledged or returned. All mailed entries must be received by the Contest end date of November 4, 2020. Exploring Strength & Unity* will not be responsible for late, lost, invalid, illegible, delayed, incomplete, stolen, misdirected or postage-due entries. Using this means of entry, you are providing us with your permission to enter you in the Contest and communicate with you by telephone, should you be selected as a Contest winner.


There are four (4) prizes available to be won. Each of the four (4) winners will receive a $100 gift certificate from Support Local BC.


The prizes will be awarded by a random draw. There is one draw for each of the following regions: Columbia Valley, East Kootenay, West Kootenay, Boundary Country. Anyone who submitted a specific regions business will be included in that draw. There will be one social media post for each region, and anyone that tags a business on a post, will be entered into that posts prize draw.

Before being declared a winner, the selected entrants must first correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question. In addition, the selected entrants must sign a waiver of liability and publicity release. By entering the Contest, all Entrants agree to be bound by the rules of the Contest. If you are selected as a potential winner, you will be provided with specific instructions as to what you are required to do to claim your prize. The prize will be awarded only to verified entrants.


The prize draws will take place on November 5, 2020. The deadline for entry is end of day, Nov 4, 2020.

Winners will be contacted via messenger or mail, depending on the method they entered. If a selected winner cannot be contacted within five (5) business days of the first attempt to contact or, if contacted, does not claim his/her prize within fifteen (15) days after notification, or does not meet all of the Contest Rules, Terms and Conditions, the selected winner will be disqualified and forfeit his/her prize, and another winner will be randomly drawn.


The sponsor reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to terminate the Contest, in whole or in part, or modify, amend or suspend the Contest and/or the Contest Rules in any way at any time for any reason without prior notice or compensation.


By entering this Contest, you consent to the collection, use and sharing of information about you for the purpose of administering this Contest in accordance with privacy policies at working together

*Exploring Strength & Unity is a collaboration of credit unions including Columbia Valley, East Kootenay Community, Grand Forks, Heritage, Kootenay Savings, and Nelson & District Credit Unions.

As member-owned credit unions, the proposed merger is dependent on favourable member votes. The merger is also dependent on regulatory consent. One of the requirements of our application for consent is providing the name of the proposed new credit union.
